큰망초(국화과)

언젠가 모 사이트에서 큰망초 때문에 몇몇 꽃동무들과 왁자하니 법석을 떤 적이 있다.

제주도에는 검질처럼 깔려 있는 큰망초를 내륙에서는 본 적이 없기 때문에

육지에서 월동하는 좀 유난스런 잎을 보고 큰망초가 아닐까 했던 것이다.

 

지난해 2월 제주에서 큰망초의 실체를 만나고 나서야 혼자 피식거리면서 웃었던 적이 있다.

제주도와 남부지역에 터를 잡은 귀화식물인 이 녀석은 잎이 매우 크고 물결성 거치가 무척 강하며 잎과 줄기에 털이 무척 많다.

꽃은 실망초와 비슷하게 설상화가 밖으로 드러나지 않는다.

 

 

 

두화는 다수이며 커다란 원추화서를 이룬다. 총포는 난형 또는 원통형이고 폭이 약 4㎜, 회록색이며,

총포편은 3줄로 배열하고, 피침형 ,끝이 예두이며 털이 있다. 설상화의 설상부가 작고 끝에 2치가 있으며 총포 밖으로 나오지 않는다.

 

 

 

 

 

줄기는 높이 80-180㎝, 회색을 띤 암녹색이며 거친털이 밀생한다.

 

 

 

잎은 어긋나기 잎차례이며, 근생엽은 피침형 또는 도피침형으로 잎자루가 있고 중거치가 거칠게 있다.

경생엽은 피침형으로 한쪽에 5-9개의 거치가 있고 뒷면에 짧은 털이 있어서 회색을 띤 암녹색이다. 위쪽의 잎은 선형으로 톱니가 없다.
