민망초(국화과 개망초속)

6년만에 백두산 야생화 탐사를 신청하였다. 방학이 되어야만 움직일 수 있으니 지난 번과 같은 기간이지만

이쁜 꽃보다는 보지 못한 종들을 살펴봐야 겠다고 생각했기에 남들보다 더 유심히 풀밭을 살피고 다녔다. 

우슬린에서 발그레한 짧은 혀꽃을 가진 처음 보는 개망초속이 반가워서 열심히 들여다 보다가 이 녀석이 민망초일거란 생각이 들었다.

학명으로 이미지를 검색을 해보니 금강산 이북, 중국에서자란다는 민망초(Erigeron acris L.)가 맞다. 민망초는 실처럼 가느다란 혀꽃이 있는데 개망초보다 더 짧고 흰색이나 옅은 붉은색을 띠고 있다. 변종인 산민망초(Erigeron acris var. kamtschaticus (DC.) Herder)는 위쪽에 가지가 많이 갈라진다는데 이 녀석을 산민망초로 봐야될지 좀 애매하긴 하다.

 

다들 유령난을 찾는다고 숲바닥을 훑고 다니지만 유령난을 보면 좋은 것이고 안 봐도 섭섭하지 않다. 남들이 관심을 두는 꽃들 보다 기대하지 않던 민망초를 만나는 뜻밖의 소득이 더 반가웠다.

포편은 3줄로 배열되고 털이 약간 있다.
