우묵사스레피(차나무과) 수꽃 Eurya emarginata (Thunb.) Makino

우묵사스레피가 꽃을 피우는 계절이다.

긴 타원형 잎 가장자리가 뒤로 말려서 우묵하게 보인다고 해서 우묵사스레피 라 이름 붙여졌다.

마치 은방울 꽃처럼 생긴 하얀 자잘한 꽃이 귀엽지만 가까이 가면 사체 썩는 냄새가 난다고 해서 비호감 대상이다.

 

우묵사스레피나 사스레피나무는 암수딴그루이다.

대부분의 수꽃들이 그러하듯이 역시 암꽃에 비하여 풍성하게 많이 핀다. 이 녀석은 수꽃이라 수술만 가득하다.

 

 

 

 

잎이 혁질로 두텁고 앞면에 광택이 강하다. 자잘한 톱니가 있으며 가장자리가 뒤로 말린다.
