시닥나무(단풍나무과) 암꽃 Acer komarovii Pojark.

이 녀석 꽃을 보려고 이 높은 고개 언덕에 오른거다.

뭐 그렇다고 걸어서 오르는 곳이 아니라 차를 대어 놓고 숲을 뒤지면 되니까 쉽게 올 수 있는 곳이다.

 

작년 이맘 때 쯤 여기서 수꽃을 보았기에 분명 지금 쯤 꽃이 피리라 생각을 했었다.

이 녀석은 암수딴그루이다. 수꽃도 꽃이지만 올해는 반드시 암꽃을 찾고 싶었기 때문이다.

도감에 있는 시닥나무 꽃 이미지를 보면 시닥나무 수꽃은 암꽃으로, 청시닥나무 꽃은 수꽃이라 올려 놓은 게 많다.

나도 처음에는 그런 줄 알았는데 잘못 알고 있다는 걸 꽃동무 한 분이 알려 주었다.

 

암꽃이나 수꽃이나 같은 모양으로 암꽃은 갈라진 암술이 있는 걸 찾으면 되었다.

적당한 곳에 차를 세우고 숲으로 들어가서 시닥나무 마다 올려다 보고 꽃을 찾았다.

얼마 되지 않아서 노란 꽃을 달고 있는 시닥나무를 발견하여 늘어진 가지를 등산지팡이에 걸어서 당겨 보니

와우~! 찾았다. 시닥나무 암꽃! 대박이다! 자방 끝에 갈라진 암술대가 보인다.

 

 

 

 

 

꽃은 5~6월에 황색으로 피고 가지 끝에 총상화서로 4~7개의 꽃이 달리며 화경에 털이 드문드문 있다.

꽃받침조각은 5개, 꽃잎은 도란형, 수술은 8개이다.  자방 끝에 갈라진 암술이 보인다.

 

 

수피는 회색이고 어린가지는 자색을 띤다.

 

 

 

 

 

잎은 대생하고 난형으로 길이 5~9cm, 나비 5~10cm이며 장상으로 3~5개로 갈라지고 밑은 아심장형이며 열편은 난형으로 끝이 뾰족하고

가장자리에 결각 또는 결각상 겹톱니가 있으며 뒷면 맥 위를 따라 갈색 털이 밀생하고 엽병은 길이 2~5cm로 붉은빛이 돈다.
