보리밥나무(보리수나무과)Elaeagnus macrophylla Thunb.

남쪽에는 가을에 꽃 피는 나무가 더러 있다.

상동나무도 지금 꽃을 피고 까마귀쪽나무는 벌써 작은 열매를 맺었다.

보리밥나무도 갈색의 점을 박은 옅은 노란색 꽃을 조롱조롱 피우고 있다.

 

내년 5월쯤 빨갛게 익은 열매를 따먹을 수 있을 거다.

이 녀석은 햇 가지가 길게 늘어진 모습이 덩굴성을 띠고 있지만 덩굴나무는 아니다.

 

이 녀석은 잎이 두텁고 앞뒷면에 백색의 인모가 덮여 있다.

상록성 중에 뒷면이 분백색인 보리밥나무에 비하여, 갈색을 띤 백색인 보리장나무가 있다.

보리장나무는 수목원에서 볼 수 있을 뿐 제주도에서도 자생하는 걸 본 적이 없단다.
