분꽃나무(산분꽃나무과 산분꽃나무속) 열매 Viburnum carlesii Hemsl. var. bitchiuense (Makino) Nakai

단순히 얕은 톱니와 갸름한 듯한 잎으로 덜꿩나무로 동정을 하였다가 한참동안 이름을 잘못 불러 주었다.

동글납작한 형태의 열매는 덜꿩나무다 라는 잘못된 선입견도 덜꿩나무로 잘못 동정하는데 한 부조를 하였고.

 

탁엽도 없고 화서도 다르고 해서 다시 산가막살나무, 가막살나무,덜꿩나무에 대한 자료를 분석하고 사진을 확인한 결과

잎에 탁엽이 없는 산가막살나무가 아닐까? 했는데. 잎의 너비가 좁다는 게 걸리고, 더 큰 문제는 열매의 크기와 과경이었다.

가막살나무 종류나 덜꿩나무의 열매를 확인해 보면 과경이나 소화경이 많이 다르다는 데 문제가 있었다.

단지 탁엽이 없다는 이유 하나로 산가막살나무 쪽으로 밀어 붙이기엔 무리가 있었다.

 

근데 이 녀석을 처음 만났을 때 분꽃나무라는 느낌을 받았는데 왜 분꽃나무를 확인해 보려고 하지 않았을까?

동글납작한 열매와 잎의 모양으로 무턱대고 덜꿩나무라 생각하고 그 안에 가두어 버린 데서 출발부터 어긋나 버렸던 거다.

 이 녀석을 가막살나무 종류 중의 하나로 미리 기준을 정해 놓고 그 안에서 판단하려고 했으니 답이 나올 수 가 있간디?

 

에구~~! 그래서 그 선입견이란 게 무서운 겨.......   결국 전문가의 확인으로 이름을 찾아 주었다. 분꽃나무. 

 

열매는 핵과로 난상 원형이고 길이 1㎝로서 9월에 분홍색에서 검은색으로 변하면서 익는다. 

  

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 높이가 2m에 달하고 가지는 대생하며 소지와 동아에 성모가 밀생한다.

 

잎은 대생하며 길이 3~10cm로서 넓은 난형 또는 원형이고 둔두 또는 예두이며 원저 또는 심장저이고

불규칙한 톱니가 있으며 표면에 성모가 드문드문 있고 뒷면에 성모가 밀생하며 엽병은 길이 5-10mm이다
