북해도식물 - 산떡쑥(국화과 다북떡쑥속) Anaphalis margaritacea (L.) Benth. & Hook.f.

탐사 일정을 마치고 공항으로 가기 위한 마지막 숙소의 이른 아침.
그 아침 시간이 아까워서 숙소 주변 도로변을 살폈다.
건물 바로 앞 도로변에 난데 없이 다북떡쑥을 닮은 녀석이 서 있었다. 두화와 총포  모습, 전초의 뽀안 털이 다북떡쑥과 많이 비슷하긴 했지만 생소한 모습이었다
다북떡쑥은 우리 나라에서도 경북 지역 야산에서 몇 군데 본 적이 있던 녀석이라 이 도시 길가에 다북떡쑥 같은 녀석이 자라고 있다니 참 히얀하기도 하였다.
 
다북떡쑥과 다르게 화서가 크게 발달하고 잎이 좁은 선상 피침형이라 일단 다북떡쑥속으로 이미지를 찾으니 학명  Anaphalis margaritacea가 확인된다. 혹시나 싶어서 그 학명으로  국가표준식물목록에서 확인하니 산떡쑥이란 국명으로 등재되어 있다.
산떡쑥은 접해보지 못했던 이름이어서 또 새로운 종 하나를 알게 된 셈이라 쾌재를 불렀다
 
산떡쑥 원산지는 인도 아대륙에서 러시아 극동과 일본, 북아메리카까지로  
분포지도를 보면 우리나라에도 분포하고 있는 것으로 표시되어 있는데 생물자원관포털에는 아무 내용이나 사진이 없이 국명과 학명만 올려져 있고,국립수목원의 포털사이트 설명에는 강원, 경기, 함남북에 나온다고 하지만 일본에서 채집해 온 표본 3개 만 올려져 있다. 
현재까지 그 이외에는 전혀 자료가 나타나지 않아서 국내 자생 여부가  확인된 자료는 없다. 아마도 극동러시아와 연결되는 북한 쪽에는 있을 가능성이 높다.
 

잎은 어긋나기하고 밀생하며 중부 및 상부의 잎은 선상 피침형, 피침형 또는 좁은 장 타원형으로 길이 6~9cm, 나비 1~1.5cm이고 끝은 뾰족하거나 둔하며 밑은 좁아져 줄기를 반쯤 싸고 표면은 처음에는 솜털이 있고 녹색이며 뒷면에는 회백색 또는 연한 갈색의 긴 솜털이 밀생한다.
