통영볼레나무(보리수나무과) 1 Elaeagnus pungens Thunb.

좁은 타원형의 잎에 물결성 톱니가 있고 잎 뒷면에 갈색 인모가 드물게 있는 잎을 가지고 있다.

어린 가지에는 잎겨드랑이에 경침이 있는데 꽃을 피우는 장령목에서는 경침이 잘 나타나지 않는다.

 

 

 

수고가 4m 정도로 꽃이 피고 있는 성목이다.

잎 뒷면에는 갈색 인모가 섞여 있고 임가장자리에 파상의 톱니가 잘 드러난다

 

이 녀석 어린 가지에는 경침이 보이지 않아서 긴가민가 했더랬다.

꽃이 피는 결국 성목의 어린 가지에는 경침이 나타나지 않기도 한다는 결론을 내렸다.

 

이미 꽃을 피우고 열매를 맺는데 경침을 생성하여 가지를 더 많이 만들 필요가 없다는 녀석의 전략이라 생각이 들었기 때문이다 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

마른 가지에 경침의 흔적으로 추정이 되는 모습이다.
