말즘 옆구리에 달린 녀석은 어린 눈싹이었다

꽃이 없는 여름에는 물가에서 수초와 놀아도 재미 있다.

오늘 어느 하천에서 말즘 옆구리에 달린 이상한 모양의 부속체를 보고 한참 고민을 했다.

 

며칠 전에 장맛비로 냇물이 불어나는 바람에 실말과 말즘같은 수초들이 떠내려 가다가 돌멩이에 엉겨 있었다.

혹시나 실말 꽃이 있을 까 싶어서 살피다나 말즘 줄기에 달린 유리 공예품처럼 생긴 녀석에 꽂혀서 한참 고민네 빠졌다.

분명히 화서는 아닌데 이게 뭐지???  화서가 생기기 전에 미리 포가 나온 건가??

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

  

 

   

 

 

 

 

 

 

그 의문은 6월 26일 안동댐 수변에서 말즘을 보다가 풀렸다.

옆구리에 부속체 처럼 생긴 그 녀석은 새 가지가 벌어지기 위해 나온 어린 눈의 모습이었던 것이다.

 

엽액에서 가지가 벌어지려고 싹이 나올 때의 모습이 바로 그런 거였다.

거참~! 길다란 잎의 모습과 마악 돋아난 가지의 잎이 이렇게 다르다니. 참 재미있는 녀석이다.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

꽃이 진 후 열매가 달렸다.

수초들의 열매 모양도 구분에 중요한 포인트이다.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

말즘의 열매는 뾰족한 뿔 같은 게 있다.
