네가래(네가래과)

네가래 잎이 포장지 도안처럼 이쁘다. 이 녀석 포자낭은 어떻게 생겼더라?

종자는 5~6월에 잎자루에서 나온 줄기 끝에 포자주머니가 달려서 포자로 번식하는 양치식물 고사리목 네가래과이다.

 

엽병은 길이 7~20cm로서 물속에 들어 있으나 물이 마르면 공중에 서기도 한다.

잎은 4개의 소엽이 엽병 끝에서 수평으로 퍼지며 소엽은 엽병이 없고 도삼각형으로서 윗가장자리는 둥글며

양쪽 가장자리가 좁아져서 밑으로 흘러 기부 쪽은 쐐기형으로 되고 가장자리에 톱니가 없으며 표면은 녹색으로서 털이 없고 중륵도 없으며

 

엽맥은 밑에서 부채살처럼 퍼져 끝에서는 가장자리를 달리는 맥과 연결되고 뒷면은 연한 갈색이며 선상의 인편이 있다.

 

소엽의 길이와 폭은 1.2~2cm로 어린 잎은 부드러운 털이 밀생한다. 야간에는 잎이 오므라진다.

종자는 포자로 5~6월경 엽병 밑 부분에서 1개의 가지가 갈라지고, 다시 2~3개로 갈라져 끝에 각각 1개씩 작은 주머니가 생기며,

그 안에서 크고 작은 포자낭이 생긴다. 자웅은 동주로 자낭군은 타원형이며, 길이는 4~5mm이다.

꽃은 엷은 녹색으로 7~8월에 피며 가장자리에 난다. 잎줄기 끝에 4개의 잎이 수평으로 퍼져서 자라며 물 위에 떠 있다.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 흙 무더기 위에 자리잡은 녀석은 토끼풀이 되고 싶은지 기를 쓰고 꼿꼿하게 버틴다.
