대가래(가래과)

위쪽에서 공사를 하는지 온통 누른 흙탕물이 흐르고 있다. 

하천 바닥을 온통 다 긁어버려서 작년에 보던 대가래를 볼 수 있을까 싶었다.

 

위쪽 웅덩이 주변을 살피니 거므스레 길다란 수초가 흘탕물 속에서 흔들리는 게 보인다.

대가래가 맞다. 헌데 물 속에서 흔들리는 대가래잎에 잔뜩 흙가루가 묻어 있다.

홍수로 물에 잠겨졌던 논의 물이 빠지고 나면 농작물들의 잎에 고운 흙가루가 말라붙게 되어 탄소동화작용을 하지 못하게 된다

대가래 잎의 흙을 대충이라도 씻어 주느라고 한참 시간을 보냈다. 녀석 아마 시원했을 게다.

 

아직 꽃대가 나오지 않아서 아쉽다. 꽃이 필 때 한 번 더 들르게 될지 모르겠다.
