늘 다녀가던 그 곳 올레 숲길에 늦둥이 길마가지 꽃이 남아 있다. 늦게 찾은 덕분에 어린 열매까지 덤으로 담는다.
비슷한 녀석으로 숫명다래란 녀석이 있는데 거센 털의 차이에 따라 이른을 달리 불러 줘야하니 그누무 털이 문제로다.
| 1 . 길마가지나무와 숫명다래나무의 꽃, 열매, 화분의 특성에는 차이가 없다.
2. 소지에 강모가 하향하며 밀생하지는 않으나 숫명다래나무는 갈마가지나무에 비해 털이 매우 적다.
3. 잎의 질감은 두꺼운 혁질로 잎 모양은 타원형으로 강모가 있으나 밀생하지는 않고 잎끝은 첨두이다.
- 잎의 강모는 잎자루와 잎 앞면 주맥, 뒷면 전체에 다소 많고 잎가장자리 전체에 퍼져있다 -------- 길마가지나무
- 잎의 강모는 잎자루에는 거의 없고, 잎 앞면과 뒷면은 맥을 중심으로 분포하며 잎가장자리에는

4. 포는 약 0.8cm이하로 엽상을 이루지 않고 선형 또는 피침형

5. DNA 다형성 분석에서 길마가지나무와 숫명다래나무는 상이점이 나타난다.
