작년보다 개화가 더 빠른 것 같다. 한창 개화 절정기라 물통이가 온통 발그레 홍조를 띄고 있다.
주변에 쇳소리를 내면서 불도저가 와르르 와르르 거리는 폼이 습지를 개발한답시고 공사를 시작하는 것 같은데
아무래도 전주물꼬리풀과 이 습지 식물의 운명이 불안스럽다.
습지 주변 정리하는게 습지를 망치고 있다고 내년에는 이 장관을 못 보게 되는 게 아닌가 하여 제주 꽃동무들도 걱정들이다.
이 녀석은 전주란 지명을 앞에 달고 있긴 한데 제주에도 자생을 하고 있다.
식물명 중에서 지역명을 가지고 있는 경우는 제일 먼저 발견이 되면서 그 지역 이름을 앞에 붙이는 경우이다
그런데 그 지역명을 가진 식물이 나중에는 전국적으로 분포가 확인되는 경우도 있으니 참 어울리지 않는 이름이 되어 버린다.
이 녀석도 마찬가지로 제주에 서식을 하고 있으니 전주란 이름이 무색해 져 버린다.
전초가 붉고 잎은 보통 4장씩 윤생하고 엽병이 거의 없으며 선형 또는 넓은 선형이고 양끝이 좁으며
길이 3-7cm, 나비 2-5mm로서 뒷면 맥 위의 기부에 잔털이 다소 있고 가장자리가 밋밋하다
꽃은 8-10월에 피며 연한 홍색이고 원줄기 끝의 원주상 이삭화서에 달리며 소화경이 없고
꽃받침은 길이 2.5mm정도로서 5개로 갈라지며 거의 같은 길이의 포와 더불어 부드러운 털이 있다.
