수정목(꼭두선이과) 꽃과 열매 Damnacanthus major Siebold & Zucc.

호자나무랑 참 비슷한 녀석이다.

다만 잎이 더 크고 잎겨드랑이에 가시가 하나씩 붙는데 가시는 호자나무 보다 더 겸손하다.

 

잎은 대생하고 난형 또는 넓은 난형이며 예두 또는 예첨두이고 원저 또는 둔저이며 길이 1.5~4cm, 나비 1-2cm로서

윤채가 있고 털이 없어지며 마디에 길이 1cm 정도의 가시가 있다

 

 

 

 

 

열매는 핵과로 지름 5㎜ 정도의 둥근 모양이고 적색으로 익는다. 열매 끝에 꽃받침 갈래가 남아 있다

 

꽃은 엽액에 1~2송이씩 달리고 짧은 소화경이 있으며 꽃받침은 종형으로 짧고 끝이 4개로 갈라지며 열편은 길이 1.5-2cm로서 삼각형이며

화관은 백색이고 길이 15~18mm이며 열편은 화관 길이의 1/5-1/4이다. 수술은 4개이다.
