2024. 7. 4. 은하폭포 아래 계곡.
작년에는 딱 두개의 열매를 두고 촬영하느라 북적거렸는데 올해는 그래도 열매가 많이 달려 있었다.
현지에서는 히메고요 딸기라 부르며 홋카이도에서 혼슈 중부와 북부에 이르는 산과 아고산 지대의 숲 가장자리에 있는 침엽수림과 습한 땅에서 자연적으로 자라는 일본 고유종이다.
꽃이 피는 가지는 곧게 서서 높이 약 30cm, 5장의 소엽을 가지고 포복지가 아주 길게 벋어나가면서 뿌리를 내린다.
흰 꽃 한 송이가 위로 피어나지만, 길이 약 8mm의 꽃잎 7개는 곧게 뻗어 평평하게 열리지 않는다는데 올해도 꽃을 보지 못해 아쉽다.
