밤나무 꽃이 피면 별로 호감이 가지 않는 비릿한 냄새가 번진다.
알밤만 구워 먹을 줄 알았지 이 녀석 꽃은 제대로 들여다 본 적이 없다.
도로 옆에 나지막한 눈 높이에 하도 풍성하게 꽃을 피우고 있는 녀석이 발걸음을 잡는다.
헌데......................ㅎㅎ..수꽃만 디립다 담았다. 그래서 오늘 다시 가서 암꽃을 담아 왔다.
꽃은 일가화로서 백색이며 7-8월에 피고 새가지 밑부분의 엽액에서 곧추 자라는 꼬리화서에 많이 달린다.
암꽃은 웅화서 밑부분에서 보통 3개씩 한 군데에 모여 달리고 포로 싸인다. 암꽃이다. 벌써 가시가 폼 잡고 있다.
수꽃이다.
잎에는 파상의 톱니가 있고 17~25쌍의 측맥이 비스듬히 평행하게 달리며 측맥 끝이 침형이고
표면은 털이 없거나 맥 위에 털이 있으며 선점(腺點)이 밀포한다. 잎의 톱니는 침상으로 되어 있는데 녹색이다.
▶상수리나무와 굴참나무의 침상에는 녹색이 없으므로 구별된다.
