청량산 갈 때마다 이곳에 들러서 팽나무 안부를 물었다. 언제 꽃 피울거냐고.
오늘 지금 쯤에는 꽃을 피웠겠지 싶어서 산림박물관에 들렀다.
팽나무 아래로 다가가니 이 녀석도 종잡을 수 없는 봄 날씨에 정신줄 놓았나 보다.
군데군데 마치 대추나무 겨우살이병처럼 새순이 자라서 벌써 꽃가루를 다 털어버린 곳이 있는가 하면
막 새순을 내미는 가지가 대부분이었다.
미리 꽃을 피운 가지를 잡아당기니 벌써 자방이 모양을 내고 있다.
수술은 벌써 꽃밥이 다 말라 버렸다. 암꽃 수꽃과 모양이 산팽나무와 거의 같다.
수꽃만 보인다.
