산호수(자금우과 자금우속) Ardisia pusilla A.DC.

밤새 내린 비로 계곡물이 흐르는 기세가 심상치가 않을 정도이다.

오전 내내 오락가락하던 비가 숲의 무게를 더 무겁게 누르고 있다.

 

몇 년 전 들렀을 때의 길 끝은 계곡물의 몸부림에 잘려 나가서 이 녀석들의 자리도 위태로워지고 있다.

낮게 깔려 위축된 녀석들의 몸짓이 그들의 선택이었을 테지만 그래도 애처롭다.

그나마 넓게 펼친 잎새와 엉크런 거치가 녀석의 최선의 용기였으리라.
