뇌성목(녹나무과 생강나무속) Lindera angustifolia W.C.Cheng

긴 시간 배를 타고 이 섬으로 향한 가장 큰 목적이 이 녀석이었다.

다른 녀석들은 2014년에 모두 봤던 녀석이었지만 이 녀석은 꼭 보고싶었던 것이다

그 때도 이 녀석을 찾았지만 찾지 못하고 빈 걸음으로 돌아와야 했었다.

 

이번에는 이 녀석의 자생 위치를 정확하게 받아가지고 있었기에 자신있게 들어 왔는데

봉고버스 네비게이션이 헤메는 바람에 한참 혼란이 있었다.

포기하려던 찰나. 내가 지도에서 길을 발견하고 인간 네비게이션 역할을 하여서 찾게 된 것이다

 

꽃은 당연히 졌을테지만 녀석의 모습이라도 보려고 했었는데 운 좋게도 몇 송이 꽃을 발견하였다.

서해 섬에서 발견되는 뇌성목은 모두 암꽃만 있고 수꽃은 보이지 않는다.

감태나무 또한 수꽃을 아직 찾지 못하고 있다는데 암꽃이 혼자서 열매를 결실시킨다는 미스테리가 풀리지 않고 있다.

 

잎은 양끝이 뾰족하고 가장자리는 밋밋하다.

감태나무처럼 겨울에도 잎이 떨어지지 않고 개화시기까지 달려 있다.

열매와 수피, 꽃이 감태나무와 아주 흡사하지만 잎의 길이가 좀 더 길었다.

 

 

개화가 끝이 나고 어린 열매가 달리는 시기에 2차 성장이 시작되고 있다.

겨우 찾아낸 늦둥이 암꽃이다

잎은 약간 두꺼운 형으로 표면에 광택이 있고 뒷면은 회녹색으로 맥을 따라 약간의 털이 있다
