왕찔레나무(장미과 장미속)Rosa laevigata Michx.

2021. 5. 초순.

 

그려려니 하고 찾아갔는데 크기와 규모에 깜짝 놀랐다.

잘못 전달된 위치 정보를 따라 가는 도중에 갑자기 나타난 이 녀석의 군락에 탄성을 지르지 않을 수 없었다.

 

꽃은 장미꽃 크기만한 찔레꽃 모양이 홑꽃으로 햇가지 끝에 한 개씩 달리며

잎은 3출엽, 잎은 상록으로 표면에 윤채가 나타나며 잎자루 기부에 피침형의 탁엽이 있고,

줄기에 큰가시와 바늘모양의 붉은 가시가 있었다.  

20m 높이의 나무까지 줄기가 오르고 있었는데 그 규모에 입을 다물수가 없었다.
