용가시나무(장미과 장미속) Rosa maximowicziana Regel

와우~! 

이렇게 완벽한 자연 상태에서 용가시나무를 만나다니 생각지도 않던 행운이다.

여기 저기 가 보지 않던 강변을 탐사하다 보면 이렇게 갑자기 툭 튀어 나온 녀석으로 폭염의 더위도 잊게 한다.

 

작년 누구나 아는 곳에서 용가시나무를 처음 만나고 두번 째로 만난 자생의 용가시나무

 

주변에 거리낄 게 없으니 줄기가 바닥을 마음껏 기어다니고 있는 장면,

드뎌 도감의 내용을 확인하는 순간이다.

작년에 만난 숲속에서 자라는 녀석은 찔레처럼 위로 서서 자라서 기는 줄기를 확인할 수 없었다.

 

줄기가 땅 위를 기면서 옆으로 뻗으며 자라며 줄기에 가시와 선모가 있는 특징으로 장미속에서 구분할 수 있는 종이다.

이 녀석은 남쪽 해안지대에 자라는 돌가시나무와 유사하나, 줄기에 선모가 있는 점에서 구분할 수 있다.

근데 너 예고도 없이 이렇게 놀래키지 마라. 

 

 

잎은 찔레꽃에 비하여 좁은 타원형 또는 장타원형이고 양면에 털이 없고 

가장자리에 잔 톱니가 있으며 탁엽은 샘털 같은 톱니가 있다. 

 

찔레꽃보다 꽃이 크고 꽃차례의 꽃의 수도 적어서 성글게 달리고, 꽃자루에 샘털이 있다.

열매도 찔레보다 더 크다.
