개앵도나무(범의귀과)

범의귀과 까치밥나무속 중에서 강원도 에지간한 숲에는 흔하게 볼 수 있는 녀석이란다.

헌데 나는 무지 공을 들여서 찾았으니. 이 숲에서 명자순은 여러 번 만났지만 이 녀석은 처음 본 거다.

 

이미 개화 시기는 지난 듯 자방이 굵어지고 있고 자방 끝네 꽃받침과 꽃술만 꽃이 핀 흔적을 알려주고 있다.

이 녀석을 처음에는 까치밥나무로 알았었다. 헌데 까치밥나무는 화서와 잎 뒷면, 어린 가지에 털이 밀생한다고 한다.

 

개앵도나무는 화서에 털이 적고 잎뒷면 맥 위 정도에만 털이 있고 어린 가지에도 털이 없다고 한다.

그러니 여태껏 내가 까치밥나무라 올려둔 자료는 개앵도나무로 수정해야 한다. 결국 강원도에서 만나는 이 녀석은 모두 개앵도나무였던 거다

 

까치밥나무 : 화서에 털이 밀생하고, 잎 표면에 잔털이 산생하며 뒷면에 융모가 있다.동아는 난형이며 털이 있다. 소지에 짧은 털과 지점이 있다.  개앵도나무 : 화서는 까치밥나무에 비해 털이 적고, 표면은 녹색이고 뒷면 맥위에만 털이 있다.     가지는 털이 없으며 굵고 동아(冬牙)는 난형이고 털이 없다.

 

 

 

 

 

총상화서는 길이 20cm에 달하며 까치밥나무에 비해 털이 적고 많은 흰색의 양성화가 조밀하게 달리며 꽃은 지름 약 5mm이다.

포는 숙존성이고 꽃받침통은 난상 원형이며 꽃받침잎은 둥글며 뒤로 젖혀지고 꽃잎은 작으며 도란형으로서 뒤로 젖혀진다.

꽃 밖으로 길게 뻗은 5개의 수술과 암술대 끝이 2개로 갈라진 1개 암술이 있다.

높이가 2m에 달하고 가지는 털이 없으며 굵고 동아(冬牙)는 난형이고 털이 없다.

 

 

 

열매는 둥글며 털이 없고 7-8월에 붉은색으로 성숙한다. 먹을 수 있다

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

잎은 둥글고 3-5개로 갈라지며 예두 심장저이고 복거치가 있으며 길이 3-6cm로서 끝이 굵게 3개로 갈라진다.

표면은 녹색이고 뒷면 맥위에만 털이 있다. 엽병은 길이 1-6cm로서 털이 거의 없다.
