궁금했었다. 이 녀석의 열매가.
전국적으로 호우주의보가 내려서 나갈 생각을 않고 있었는데 오전에 하늘이 갠 듯하더니 햇살까지 비친다.
1시간 30분은 재게 달려야 갈 수 있는 거리, 이 곳까지만 가기로 하고 부랴부랴 길을 나섰다.
숲이 우거져서 이 녀석을 찾느라고 한참을 살펴야 했다. 화경과 잎 뒷면의 털까지 모두 담고나니 드뎌 비가 내리기 시작한다
서둘러 돌아오는 길에 게릴라성 소나기로 비상 깜빡이를 켜고 더듬거리면서 돌아 왔다.
봄 날 우연하게 만난 이 녀석을 개앵도나무일까 아니면 까치밥나무일까 하고 동정하느라고 도감을 들고 씨름을 했었다.
잎 양면과 화서의 털을 확실하게 잘 담아 온 덕분에 까치밥나무로 결론을 내리고
그 동안 올려 놓은 까치밥나무를 모두 재 검토하여 검룡소에서 델꼬온 녀석을 개앵도나무로 수정을 하였다.
꽃이 필 때에는 화서의 털이 밀생하고 있었는데 열매가 익어갈 때 쯤에도 털이 남아 있을까 싶었더니 과경에까지 털이 남아 있었다.
화축과 과경(소화경)에 밀모가 남아 있다. 개앵도나무도 화축에 털이 있긴 하지만 까치밥나무 만큼 밀생하지는 않는다
잎 뒷면에도 융모가 덮여 있다. 개앵도나무는 잎맥 위에 털이 있다.
까치밥나무와 개앵도나무는 아주 흡사하여 구분이 어렵지만 자세히 보면 잎의 열편 폭과 길이가 좀 다르다.

잎은 원형이고 3-5개로 갈라지며 예두 심장저이고 복거치가 있으며 표면은 녹색이고
길이와 폭이 각각 4-10cm로서 잔털이 산생하며 뒷면에 융모가 있고 엽병은 길이 1-6cm로서 털이 거의 없다.
