까치나무속 중에서 가장 잎이 작고 나무가 작다. 숲 속의 이 녀석 수고가 거의 허벅지 높이를 넘지 못한다.
봄에 이 곳 숲을 뒤지다가 작디 작은 암꽃과 수꽃을 만나는 행운을 얻기도 했었는데
열매가 익을 때 쯤 되었으려니 했더니만 역시 곱게도 익고 있다.
해는 벌써 멀리 산 능성이로 기울어져서 어두워지고 있는 6시가 다 된 시각에
잔 빛으로 담느라 낑낑 애를 다썼는데 그래도 이렇게 열매를 담을 수 있어서 기분은 짱이다.
바삐 발품 판 덕에 토요일 반나절 시간에 귀한 녀석 몇 녀석 겨우 건졌다.
