꼬리까치밥나무(까치밥나무속) 암꽃

왜 안 보이나 그랬다.

이 산에는 수꽃만 늘 가득 피어 있었더랬다.

몇 년 전 겨우 찾아 둔 암그루가 길 확장 때문에 잘려 나간 후 암그루를 보긴 이제 틀렸다 했었다.

늦은 오후 시간에 내 어슬렁거리는 발걸음 끝에 걸려든 암그루 하나.

멀찍이서 보니 화서가 화려하지 않아서 혹시나 했더니만 역시 암그루였다.

 

매번 아래 쪽에 있던 수그루 꽃만 대충 보고 가면서 좀 더 위쪽을 눈여겨 보지 않았던 게다.

아니다. 그 가까이 암그루 하나를 찾아 두었으면서 칡덩굴에 덮여 있던 더 큰 이 녀석을 미처 발견하지 못했던 거 같다.

이제 열매가 잘 익을 수 있도록 나무를 덮고 있는 칡덩굴을 제거해 주어야 하는데...퇴근 후 시간을 내어 봐야겠다.
