서양오엽딸기(장미과)

산과 들은 온통 찔레꽃이 한창인 때라 흰색 덩굴성은 모두 찔레꽃만 같다.

"잠깐 차 세워 봐요. 좀 이상한데?"

백리향 자생지로 가는 도중 아무래도 찔레는 아닌 듯 해서 급하게 차를 세우게 해서는 뒤로 후진.

역시나. 처음 만난 오엽딸기였다. 그런데 아무래도 저절로 자란 것 같지는 않고 심은 것이 퍼져나간 듯.

 

도감과 국가생물종...에  확인한 결과 오엽딸기는 아니고 서양오엽딸기로 보인다

 

오엽딸기는 7월에 짧은 가지 끝에 1~2송이씩 꽃이 달려서 밑으로 처지며

꽃밭침에 꽃잎이 거의 퇴화되어 꽃받침만 보이는 듯 보이며 꽃받침에 거친 털이 나 있다고

열매는 붉은색으로 익는다. 종자는 길이 2.5㎜로서 종자 표면에 무늬가 있다.

서양오엽딸기로

확인이 되었다.

그런데 서양오엽딸기는 꽃색이 분홍이라고 되어 있는데 이꽃은 완전한 흰색이다.

인터넷에서는 이 녀석을 오엽딸기로 잘못 올려놓는 곳이 제법 많았다.

꽃은 원추화서를 이루고 꽃잎은 5장, 원형이며, 길이 7~9cm이다. 꽃받침은 5장이다.

 

 

 

 

 

열매는 복과로 둥근 모양이며, 검은색으로 익는다.

 

 

 

 

 

잎은 호생하며, 손바닥 모양이고, 3~5장의 소엽으로 된 겹잎이다.

원줄기의 잎은 소엽이 5엽인데, 꽃이 있는 줄기부근의 잎은 대부분 3엽이다.

표면은 털이 없고 광택이 나는 녹색, 뒷면은 흰 솜털이 밀생하고 잎 가장자리에 톱니가 있다.

 

 

 

 

줄기는 지름 2cm정도이고, 능선이 발달되어 있고, 날카로운 가시가 있다.
