7월이 다 되도록 해외 식물 탐사로 바쁘게 쫓아다니던 사이 새로 발표된 논문 확인을 못했더니

저수령 고개에서 만나던 잎자루가 길고 엽저가 심형으로 담배풀처럼 꽃자루가 짧던 녀석이

기록종 광덕담배풀로 발표가 되었다.(식물분류학회지 56(2)호) 2026.

요약: Carpesium matsuei Tatew. et Kitam. (Asteraceae)가 한국 남서부 광덕산에서 처음으로 보고되었습니다. 이 종은 이전에는 일본 고유종으로 알려져 있었습니다. Carpesium matsuei는 다음과 같은 형태학적 특징을 보입니다. 잎겨드랑이에서 나오는 무경화서가 총상화서와 유사한 꽃차례를 형성하고, 난형에서 구형에 이르는 총포를 가지며, 끝이 뾰족하고 밑부분이 심장형인 난형의 기저엽을 가지고 있습니다. 채집지를 바탕으로 새로운 한국명인 “광덕산배풀”을 제안합니다.

 

큐에서는 이 녀석을 Carpesium matsuei var. (Tatew. et Kitam.) Kitam. 으로 변종으로 보고 있다.

 

제주도에서 만나던 긴담배풀과 꽃차례 모습이 달라 보여서 갸웃거렸던 녀석이었는데

내륙 몇 군데서 이 녀석을 만나서 모두 긴담배풀로 정리해 두었는데 미기록종이었던 것이다.

광덕담배풀 Carpesium matsuei Tatew. & Kitam. 다년생 초본으로 키는 30~100cm이다. 뿌리줄기는 짧고, 두껍고 굵다. 줄기는 곧게 서고, 구불구불하며, 윗부분은 갈라지고, 촘촘하고 미세한 털이 빽빽하게 나 있다. 잎은 뿌리잎과 줄기잎으로 나며, 뿌리잎은 개화 전에 시든다. 아래쪽 줄기잎은 난형이고, 크기는 9~20 × 6~14cm이며, 끝은 예리하거나 뾰족하고, 밑부분은 심장형이며, 가장자리는 불규칙적으로 얕은 뾰족한 톱니 모양이고, 양면에 미세한 털이 나 있으며, 아랫면에는 미세한 샘점이 있다. 잎자루는 잎몸보다 짧고,길이는 8~12cm이며, 윗부분에만 좁은 날개가 있다. 중간잎은 장방형이고, 끝은 뾰족하고, 밑부분은 쐐기형이다. 위쪽 잎은 점차 작아지고, 잎자루가 없다. 꽃차례는 각 가지의 겨드랑이에 달리고, 자루가 없으며, 느슨한 총상꽃차례를 이루고,개화 시에는 고개를 숙인다.  총포는 난형에서 아구형이며 크기는 5–6 ×6–9 mm이다. 포엽은 3–4열로 배열되고 막질이며 겹쳐져 있다. 바깥쪽 포엽은 넓은 난형이고 끝이 뾰족하며 안쪽 포엽 길이의 약 절반이다. 안쪽 포엽은 선형이고 끝이 둔하며 길이는 5–8mm이다. 소화는 많고 원통형이며 5갈래로 갈라지고 노란색이다. 가장자리 소화는 암꽃이며 길이는 1.8–2 mm이다. 중심 소화는 양성이며 길이는 3–4 mm이다. 수과는 원통형이며 길이는 약 3.5 mm이다.
