천일담배풀(국화과) Carpesium glossophyllum Maxim.

이 녀석 지난해 여름새우란을 보러 한라산 깊이 들어 갔던 방향도 잡을 수 없었던 숲에서 처음 만났었는데

제주 올 때마다 들르는 숲자리에 이렇게 흔하게 살고 있는 줄 몰랐다.

 

영주풀과 버어먼초에만 정신이 팔려서 옆을 돌아볼 여유를 갖지 못하였기 때문일 거다.

올해는 느긋하게 주변을 살피면서 꽃을 담다 보니 아직 개화는 하지 않았지만 자주 눈에 들어 온다.

이 녀석을 애기담배풀로 알았다. 헌데 꽃동무님의 풀꽃 도감을 보고 이 녀석이 그렇게 찾던 천일담배풀이란 걸 깨달았다.

 

천일담배풀이 실체가 어떤 것인지 무척 궁금하였는데 눈 뜬 장님처럼 보고도 몰랐다.

꽃이 필 때에도 근생엽이 남아 있는 점이 애기담배풀과 같지만 잎에 물경성 거치가 없는 점이 애기담배풀과 다르다.

이 녀석은 개화할 때에도 근생엽이 싱싱하게 살아 있다.

 

 

근생엽은 개화시까지 남아 있으며 꽃무늬처럼 지면으로 퍼지는 로제트형이고 도피침상 설형이며 길이 9~15cm, 폭 2.5~3.5cm로서 둥근 끝이 뾰족해지고 밑부분이 좁으며 잔돌기가 퍼져 있고 양면에 털이 많다.

 

 

높이 15-45cm이고 전체에 짧은 연모(軟毛)가 밀생한다

 

두화는 가지와 원줄기 끝에 달리고 밑을 향해 1개씩 달리며 연한 노란색이다.애기담배풀은 총포가 통형인데 이 녀석 천일담배풀은 각두형으로 포편이 뒤집어진다.

그리고 천일담배풀의 꽃의 지름이 0.8-1.5cm 로 애기담배풀 지름 5mm보다 더 크다

 

천일담배풀은 보다시피 포엽이 있으며 총포의 포편은 각두형으로 뒤집어지며 5열이다. (애기담배풀은 포엽이 있거나 없으며 3열)

 

 

 

 

경생엽은 드문드문 달리고 도피침형이며 엽병이 없다

 

 

 

 

경생엽은 호생하고 적으며 드물게 달리고 뿌리잎보다는 작은 긴 타원상 피침형이지만 윗부분의 것은 선상 피침형이다.

 

 

 

 천일담배풀은 피침형의 포엽이 있으며 포편이 각두형으로 뒤로 뒤집어진다(애기는 종형이다)

 

 

 

 

 

근생엽은 개화 이후에도 남아 있으며 꽃무늬처럼 퍼지고 주걱같은 피침형이며 길이 6-15㎝, 나비 1.2-3cm로서

끝이 둔하거나 둥글고 밑으로 갈수록 좁아져서 엽병처럼 되며 가장자리에 불규칙한 톱니가 있고 연모가 밀생한다. .
