각시취(국화과 취나물속) Saussurea pulchella (Fisch.) Fisch. ex Colla

각시취 꽃이 특별하게 화려하게 보이는 이유는 총포에 있다.

보통 국화과의 총포는 녹색에 난형이거나 피침형 부속체가 길게 나 있는 경구인데 비하여

각시취는 총포가 자색의 얇은 부채를 여러 개 붙여 놓은 듯 또 하나의 꽃의 일부로 아름다움을 더해 주기 때문이다.

 

 

 

꽃의 위쪽이 통상화로 암술과 수술이 길게 나와 있고

아래쪽에 항아리 모양을 하는 총포의 포편이 분홍색 작은 부채가 다닥다닥 붙어 있는 모습을 하고 있다.

아마도 국화과 중에서 가장 멋진 총포를 가진 녀석일 게다

 

 

 

 

취나물속은 설상화가 없고 통상화만 가지고 있다.
