큰여우콩(콩과 여우콩속) 열매 Rhynchosia acuminatifolia Makin

내 사는 곳 주변에는 큰여우콩을 볼 수 없다. 이번에 남쪽으로 온 김에 큰여우콩도 꼭 봐야겠다고 별렀다.

팔공산 자락에서 큰여우콩 열매를  담은 적이 있긴 하지만 딱 한 번 본 적밖에 없으니 늘 마음에 덜 찼었다.

 

수목원의 수종들을 살피면서도 큰여우콩 덩굴이 보이지 않을까하여 숲 아래 작은 관목들을 유심히 살폈다.

말라 쭈그러진 잎이 보여서 이 정도면 너무 늦은 것 같아서 실망스러움을 감추지 못하고 있는데

드뎌 고운 색의 콩깍지가 여우 얼굴을 하고 헤실헤실 웃고 있다.

 

 

열매는 여우콩이나 다를 바 없다. 콩깍지 겉에 잔털이 있다는데 원본을 보니 아주 부드러운 털이 확인된다.

여우콩 열매의 털보다는 짧은 밀모라서 맨눈으로 확인하기 어려운데 촉감으로 느껴질까 말까 할

 

 

까만 두 알의 종자가 귀여운 여우 눈을 만들고 콩깍지가 벌어진 모습이 마치 애기여우 같아서 여우콩이란 이름을 얻었을 게다.

 

 

 

잎은 호생하고 엽병이 길며 3출엽이고 정소엽이 난형 또는 장란형으로 길이 4~8cm, 나비 3~5cm이며

끝은 뾰족하고 밑은 둔하거나 둥글며 뒷면에 선점이 있고 가장자리가 밋밋하다.

 

 

 

잎자루와 줄기에 털이 많고

 

잎 뒷면에도 털이 많이 있고 노란 선점이 많이 보인다.

 

 

 줄기에 흰털이 많다.

 

 이름도 비슷하고 잎 모양이 비슷한 녀석들의 잎이다.

 

여우콩: 소엽 끝이 둔하며 잎이 둥글고 누른 털이 많다	큰여우콩 : 털이 적고 소엽 꼬리가 길다
여우팥 : 정소엽의 꼬리가 잘록하게 함몰 되고 털이 적다	새콩 : 여우콩과 거의 흡사하지만 짧은 흰털이 있고 꽃이 다르다
