새머루(포도과 포도속) 열매 Vitis flexuosa Thunb.

새머루가 어떻게 생겼나 하고 둥그런 머루잎만 만나면 새머루가 아닐까하여 화색을 내곤 했는데

제주에서 진짜 새머루를 보고서야 새머루일 것 같다고 담아둔 녀석은 모두 왕머루로 봐야할 것 같다.

 

사실 이 녀석을 만나고서는 새머루라 생각하지 못하고 처음보는 잎새 모양에 새머루 비슷한데 무슨 머루이지 하고 일단 담아 온 거다.

네이쳐나 이영노도감의 사진 자료는 모두 내가 불확실하게 담은 머루 사진과 같은데, 이창복 도감의 사진 자료를 보니 바로 이 녀석이 실려 있다.

 

중부이남의 표고 100~1,300m 사이의 산록 및 계곡에 자생한다.

치아상 잔톱니가 있고 개머루나 왕머루에서 볼 수 있는 잎의 결각이 전혀 없고 꼬리가 길게 빠져 있다.

잎은 덩굴손과 대생거나 호생하며 길이 4-10㎝,너비 4-8㎝로서 난상 원형이거나 삼각상 난형이고 점첨두이며 절저 또는 심장저이고

나비 5-8cm로서 양면에 털이 없으며 톱니가 드문드문 있고

어린 나무의 것은 까마귀머루처럼 갈라지기도 한다.

 

 

원추화서는 잎과 대생하며 때로는 화경에서 덩굴손이 발달하고 꽃은 단성으로서 6월에 피며 연한 황록색이고 5수이다.

꽃받침은 윤상이며 꽃잎은 윗부분에서 합쳐져서 밑부부이 떨어진다.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

잎 앞뒷면에 털이 없다. 맥 기부에는 누른 털이 조금 보인다.

 

 

 

 

 

간혹 어린 가지의 잎은 가새잎개머루처럼 갈라지기도 하는데 오른쪽 아래 부분의 잎이 결각 져 있다.
