머루 중에서 잎의 결각이 아주 깊게 지는 녀석으로 까마귀머루와 가새잎개머루가 있다.
제주에서 두 녀석을 ㅂ기 전에는 잎의 결각만 가지고 이거다 저거다 확신을 하지 못하였는데
올 여름 두녀석을 현장에서 확인을 하고는 이제 확실하게 구별을 할 수 있게 되었다.
가새잎개머루는 칠보 보석처럼 푸른 금속성 색을 내지만 까마귀머루는 요렇게 까맣게 익는다.
까마귀머루는 잎 뒷면 전체에 털이 있는데, 가새잎머루는 잎 뒷면 맥 위에만 털이 있다고 한다.
물론 화서도 다르다. 가새잎개머루는 취산화서이고 까마귀머루는 원추화서이다.
