꽃이 꽃마리 크기만한 녀석이 키가 제법 크고 열매가 이상하길래 궁거워서 담았다.
지치과는 분명한데 열매와 화서 전체에 강모와 돌기성 선모가 밀생하는 녀석이라 고개만 갸웃거렸더니 역시 만나기 어려운 녀석이었다.
돌지치로 올려 놓고 동호회 사이트에 올렸더니 꽃동무가 뚝지치로 확인해 보란다.
해서 몇 군데 자료를 확인하니 이 녀석이 뚝지치 였던 거다.
뚝지치는 함경도의 고원지대 및 백두산지역에서 자라는 북방계 식물인데 현재는 강원도 동강 주변에서도 서식이 확인되고 있다.
지치과 북방계 종으로 돌지치, 들지치, 뚝지치가 있다. 이 세녀석은 키가 크고 형태적 특징도 거의 유사하여 구분이 어렵다고 한다
돌지치는 꽃받침 열편이 선형이고 꽃이 져도 젖혀지지 않는다.
뚝지치는 꽃받침 열편이 뽀족하지 않고 꽃이지면 뒤로 제껴지고 소화경이 아래로 굽는 특징이 있었다.
들지치는 근생엽이 뭉쳐나며 개화기에 고사하고, 열매 가장자리에 2-3줄의 갈고리가시가 있다.
해서 이 녀석을 뚝지치로 수정한다.
꽃은 6-8월에 피고 연한 하늘색으로 지름 3-5mm이며 가지 끝의 총상화서에 달리고
소화경은 길이 2-5mm로서 꽃이 진 다음 처지며 포는 피침형이고 소화경보다 짧다
열매에 선모가 밀생을 하여 손에 쩍쩍 달라붙었다. 4개로 갈라진 분과이다.
분과는 사면체이고 가장자리에 자모가 줄로 돋아 있으며 길이 2mm정도로서 자모 끝에 잔돌기가 있다.
꽃받침은 5개로 깊게 갈라지며 열편은 피침형이고 길이 1-3mm로서 꽃이 진 다음 젖혀진다
포는 잎 같고 작으며 화경과 소화경은 털이 있다.
잎을 만져보니 거센 강모가 있다. 잎은 어긋나기이고 엽병이 없으며 피침형이고 양끝이 좁다.
길이 2-5(9)cm, 폭 3-10(20)mm로서 가장자리가 밋밋하며 잎 앞뒷면과 가장자리에 강모가 밀생하여 까끌까끌하였다.
높이가 40-80cm에 달하며 곧게 서고 밑에서 부터 가지가 많이 갈라지며 전체적으로 밑부분이 넓은 굳센 털이 많다.
