지난 10월에는 동아 모습을 제대로 담지 못하여 다시 한 번 이 곳에 들렀다.
잎을 떨군 나무는 열매는 그대로 단채 겨울을 나고 있다.
조심스레 가지를 잡아 당겨서 동아를 담는데 이른 아침 시각이라 빛이 도와주지 않는다.
잎은 가지 끝 부분에 모여나는데 동아는 털이 전혀 없고 겨울인데도 녹색 기운이 돌고 있다.
털부숭이 산검양옻나무와 무척 대조적이다.
엽흔에 열매가 달린 모습을 보면 잎 겨드랑이에서 한 개의 총상화서가 나오는 걸 알 수가 있다.
이 녀석은 다른 붉나무속에 비하여 가지가 유난히 늘어지는 경향이 있었는데
꽃이 핀 가지 끝 부분 쯤에 한 개의 가지가 생겨서 가느랗게 자라는데 그러게 가지가 자라다 보니 길게 늘어질 수 밖에 없었을 것이다.
열매를 달고 있는 가지가 이렇게 아래로 늘어져 있다.
