수정목(꼭두선이과) Damnacanthus major Siebold & Zucc.

6월에 꽃이 핀 걸 담은 적이 있는 계곡 숲을 찾았다.

네비 아줌마가 가자는 곳을 잘 모르는지 헤메길래 미리 봐 두었던 지도의 길을 떠 올려서 근처까지 도착을 하였다. 

 

한참을 걸어 들어가는데 인기척이 전혀 없다. 오히려 인기척이 없는 게 더 마음이 놓인다.

며칠 전에 집중호우로 불어난 계류 때문이었는지 호자나무와 수정목에 자잘한  검불들이 많이 걸려 있다.

열매가 익었을 줄 알았는데 아직 덜 자란 열매가 드물게 보일 뿐이다.

에그~! 너무 성급했나 보다. 2월 쯤 되면 색이 고울텐데....

 

 

 

열매는 핵과로 지름 5㎜ 정도의 둥근 모양이고 적색으로 익는다. 열매 끝에 꽃받침 갈래가 남아 있다.

 

 

 

 

 

줄기는 회백색이며 소지에는 가늘게 굽은 털이 있다.

 

 

 

 

 

 

잎은 대생하고 난형 또는 넓은 난형이며 예두 또는 예첨두이고 원저 또는 둔저이며 길이 1.5~4cm, 나비 1-2cm로서

윤채가 있고 털이 없어지며 마디에 길이 1cm 정도의 가시가 있다.
