새박(박과)

제주에서 구슬목걸이 처럼 주렁주렁 늘어진 새박 열매를 담은 적이 있는데 꽃은 제대로 담지 못하였다.

박과인 이 녀석도 암꽃과 수꽃이 다른 일가화이다. 

이 녀석과 비슷한 덩굴성 초본으로 산외와 뚜껑덩굴이 있다. 모두 일가화로 꽃의 크기나 열매의 크기 등이 비슷하다.

 

 

 

 

덩굴손이 잎과 대생한다. 잎은 호생하며 삼각상 심원형, 편심형 또는 난형이고 끝이 대개 뾰족하지만

밑은 심장저이고 길이 3-6cm, 폭 4-8cm로서 가장자리에 크고 낮은 톱니가 있으며 3개로 갈라진 듯한 것도 있다.

 

 

 

 

 

 

작은 열매를 달고 있는 암꽃이다. 잎 겨드랑이에 한 개씩 핀다.

 

 

암꽃은 암꽃은 3개의 짧은 암술이 있으며 암술머리는 2갈래이다.

 

 

수꽃이다 수꽃도 잎 겨드랑이에 한 개씩 피지만 간혹 가지 끝의 총상화서에 달리는 것도 있다. 수꽃은 3개의 수술이 있다.

 

 

꽃은 7-8월에 피고 자웅화가 모두 엽액에 한 개씩 달리지만 수꽃이 가지 끝의 총상화서에 달리는 것도 있으며

화관은 백색이고 5개로 갈라지며 꽃받침은 끝이 5개로 갈라지고 열편은 선형으로서 짧으며 소화경이 있다.

 

 

열매는 둥글고 지름 1cm로서 길이 15-50mm의 과경에 달리며 밑으로 처지고 녹색이지만 익으면 회백색으로 되며 종자는 편평하고 회백색이며 많다.
