토현삼(현삼과 현삼속)

가장 흔하게 만나는 현삼속 녀석으로

화서가 잎겨드랑이에서 많이 발달하여 풍성하고 꽃받침 열편이 길게 뾰족한 모습을 하고 있다.

1. 잎은 털이 없고 두꺼우며 윤기가 난다. (꽃은 흑자색) (잎자루에 날개가 있다)   

    2. 줄기에 날개가 있다. .............................개현삼 (원뿔모양 총상화서)

    2. 줄기에 날개가 없다. .............................섬현삼 (원뿔모양 총상화서)

    3. 꽃은 홍자색이다.

        4. 꽃받침 갈래조각은 길이가 폭과 비슷하며 끝은 둔하다.

토현삼의 꽃받침 갈래조각은 길이가

폭보다 2배 이상 길며 끝은 뾰족하다.큰개현삼의  꽃받침 갈래조각은 길이가 폭과 비슷하며 끝은 둔하다.
