가시나무(참나무과 가시나무속)

오잉? 가시나무다~!!

 

아니 이런 곳에 난데없는 가시나무라니?

하기사 창녕이면 대구보다 남쪽이니 상록성 가시나무가 살 수는 있겠는데....

주차장 주변이라 오래 전 심어 놓은 게 분명하렸다.

 

조사하려던 녀석들은 눈을 씻고 봐도 찾을 수 없는 소나무가 우점하고 있는 메마르고 건조한 환경에 지쳐서

서둘러 포기하고 돌아서던 길이다. 화왕산은 꽃의 왕이 아니라 꽃이 전혀 없는 산이라더니 그 말이 딱이다.

 

가시나무는 자생으로는 거의 만나기 어렵다더니 대구수목원과 이 곳에서 두번 째 만나는 녀석이다.
