나무 열매를 볼 게 있지 싶어서 화순곶자왈을 한 바퀴 돌았는데
늦은 시기라서 열매가 다 떨어 져 버렸고 숲 아래 바닥에는 양치식물만 싱싱하였다.
육박나무 수피, 보고 싶어 하던 왕초피나무 열매, 소엽맥문동, 큰봉의꼬리를 새롭게 담았다.
멸종위기종 2급 식물인 개가시나무는 제주에도 흔하지 않다기에 담긴했는데
어두운 숲에다가 바삐 걸음 따라 붙이느라 급하게 담았더니 흔들려 버렸다.

개가시나무 잎은 호생하며 도피침형 또는 넓은 도피침형이고 첨두이며 넓은 예저이고 길이 5-12cm, 너비 2-3.5cm로서
상반부에 예리한 톱니가
있으며 표면은 털이 없고
뒷면은 황갈색의 성모가 밀포하며 10-14쌍의 측맥이 있다.엽병은
길이 1cm정도로서
잎 뒷면과 더불어 털이 있다.
높이가 20m에 달하고 수피는 암갈색이며 다소 조각으로 벗겨지고 소지는 황갈색 밀모로 덮여있다.
