몇 년 전부터 개똥쑥이 난리다. 항암 효과가 있다고 하여 집집마다 몇 포기씩 기르기도 한다
경북 영양에서 야생초 효소 제조 공장을 운영하고 있는 동생은 곧 홈쇼핑에 개똥쑥 효소와 마시는 야생초 하루 효소를 출시할 모양이다.
봄날 개똥쑥 두어 포기를 얻어서 학교와 집에 심어 두었다.
집 주변에 씨도 뿌려 두었는데 어린 1년초 녀석들이 돋아 나 있다.
개똥쑥은 이년초라서 어린 녀석들은 내년에나 자라서 꽃을 피울 것이다.
잎은 호생하고 3회우상복엽이며 중앙부의 잎은 길이 4-7cm이고 최종열편은 나비 0.3mm정도이며
표면에 가로같은 잔털과 선점이 있고 중축이 빗살모양이며 윗부분의 잎이 작다. 열편은 피침형으로 황록색이다.
줄기 잎이다. 줄기 잎은 거의 2회 깃꼴이다.
개사철쑥의 잎 중축은 빗살처럼 갈라진 열편이 있는데 비하여
개똥쑥 잎은 중축이 밋밋하며 열편 끝은 개사철쑥에 비하여 둔한 느낌을 준다.
신초의 뿌리잎이다. 뿌리잎은 4회깃꼴까지 나타난다
어린 녀석의 잎을 뜯어 보면 참 좋은 향이 난다. 자라면서 그 향이 약해지기는 한다
개똥쑥을 우린 차를 마셔 본 적이 있는데 국화차처럼 온 몸이 훈훈해지고 허브향 처럼 참 좋은 향을 느낄 수가 있었다
키가 2m 가까이 크고 있는데 아직 꽃봉오리가 맺히지 않았다.
