망개나무(갈매나무과 망개나무속) Berchemia berchemiifolia (Makino) Koidz.

강 건너 임도를 따라 얼마 정도 걷다 보면 망개나무가 보인다.

6월 초순이라 아직 개화가 되지 않아서 봉오리만 다글거린다.

 

주왕산에 주로 많이 분포를 하고 있다고 알려져 있지만 팔공산에도 서식하고 있다고 한다.

 

꽃잎은 타원형인데 악편보다 짧다. 수술은 5개이고, 화사는 짧다.

뾰족한 모양의 노랗게 보이는 것은 꽃잎이 아니고 꽃받침이다. 그 안에 진 노랑의 타원상 부속체가 꽃잎이다.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

잎 표면에 털이 없으며 뒷면 분백색으로서 털이 없거나 맥액 근처에 털이 있고

가장자리는 밋밋하거나 뚜렷하지 않은 파상의 톱니가 있으며 엽병은 길이 6-10mm로서 털이 없다.

잎자루가 붉고 잎 가장자리에 물결성 거치가 있다.

 

 

 

어린가지 가지는 적갈색이고 작은 피목이 산재하며 원줄기는 곧게 자라지만 가지는 늘어진다.
