까마귀베개(갈매나무과 까마귀베개속) 열매 Rhamnella franguloides (Maxim.) Weberb.

까마귀베개 열매가 녹색에서 노란색 붉은색으로 변해 가고 있다.

완전하게 익으면 검은자색->검은색이 된다.

베개처럼 생긴 열매가 까마귀처럼 까맣게 익는대서

제주지역에서 부르던 향명 '가마귀베게'를 국명으로 받아들여서 한글표기법에 맞게 까마귀베개라 부르게 되었다. 

 

잎은 어긋나고, 난상 긴 타원형으로 잎끝은 꼬리 모양으로 뾰족하고 가장자리에 잔 톱니가 있다.

잎 표면은 털이 없으나 뒷면은 회녹색으로 맥 위에 잔털이 있다.

 

수피는 진갈색이며, 평활하고 피목은 회백색이며 세로로 배열된다.

소지에는 털이 산생하고 동아는 삼각형이며 무모이다.

충청 이남의 남부지역에 주로 자란다.
