두 녀석을 비교한다는 자체가 별로 의미 없을 수도 있다.
헌데 나는 두 녀석의 차이점을 공부하지 않고 거의 비슷한 녀석으로 알고 있다가
어제 선버들을 처음 접하고 두 녀석에 대하여 정리를 해 둘 필요가 있을 것 같아서 자료를 정리해 본다
비슷한 점 : 서식 환경이 같은 곳이고 꽃이 피는 시기, 수형도 비슷하다
다른 점 : 꽃밥의 색, 수피, 화서의 크기, 열매의 털,수술의 수, 탁엽

버드나무의 수꽃은 수술이 2개씩 피고 꽃밥주머니가 붉은색을 띠는데
선버들은 수술이 3개씩 펴서 풍성한 느낌을 주고 꽃밥주머니가 노란색을 많이 띠고 있다.
선버들은 꽃밥이 노랗고 아래쪽에서 부터 꽃술이 터지는 모양이 마치 붓모양을 이룬다
선버들은 털이 있는 도란형의 포가 3개의 수술을 싸고 있다.
오메~! 내 침침한 눈으로 도대체 무슨 짓을 했능겨?
수술이 3개씩인 선버들은 수술이 2개씩 있는 버드나무보다 더 풍성하다.
버드나무 수꽃은 꽃밥주머니가 이렇게 붉은 색을 띠고
수술이 2 개씩 달려 있어서 엉성한 모습을 한다
두 녀석의 암꽃을 살펴 보면
선버들은 암꽃 자방에 대가 있고 자방에 털이 없다.
선버들의 화서는 길고 자방의 달림이 성글다
버드나무 암꽃은 선버들에 비하여 길이가 짧고 자방에 털이 많으며 대가 없다.
가까이 두 녀석이 혼생하길래 암꽃을 비교해 보면 시각적으로 금방 구분이 된다.

수피에서도 차이가 나타나는데
선버들은 조각조각 바둑판처럼 얇게 갈라지는데 버드나무는 세로로 길게 터진다.
