<애기장대>
잎 표면에 Y자로 생긴 털이 밀생하고 줄기 아래 쪽에는 길게 퍼진 털이 많으며 꽃다지 잎과 비슷하게 생긴 근생엽을 가지고 있다.

<갯장대>
제주도와 남해안 해안가에 서식을 하는 녀석은 잎이 두텁고 물경형 거치를 가지고 있는데,
아랫쪽 잎은 혁질로 빳빳하고 줄기와 잎 양면에 퍼진 털과 성모로 덮여 있는 녀석이다.

<털장대>
잎 가장자리에 불규칙한 톱니가 있고 밑부분이 원줄기를 감싼다.
줄기는 퍼진 털이 있고 잎 뒷면에 2~4개로 갈라진 털이 있다.

<산장대>
습한 숲 자락 양지바른 곳에 주로 서식을 한다. 가지가 많이 분지하고 거의 바닥에 누워서 자라는데
근생엽은 엽병이 있고 난형 또는 타원형이며 길이 2~3cm로서 우상으로 갈라지고 끝이 크고 둔하며
밑부분의 열편은 작아져서 마침내 소돌기로 되어 엽병과 연결되고 정열편이 가장 크며 측열편과 더불어 둔한 톱니가 있다.
경생엽은 호생하고 타원형으로서 엽병이 없으며 끝이 뾰족하고 밑부분이 점차 좁아진다
열매는 장각으로 길이 1~2cm, 폭 1mm정도로서 군데군데가 좁아져서 희미한 염주상으로 된다.

<느러진장대>
꽃은 관찰하기 어려울 정도로 자잘하고 장각 열매가 늘어지는 게 인상적인 녀석인데 신초의 모습은 전혀 짐작이 어려운 모습이다

<장대나물>
어린 신초의 근생엽 뒷면에는 Y자로 갈라진 차상의 털이 있지만 성체의 잎과 줄기에는 털이 없다
엽저가 귓볼처럼 갈라져서 줄기를 감싸고 잎가장자리가 밋밋하거나 불규칙한 톱니가 드물게 있기도 한다
장각 열매는 화축에 붙어 있다.

<바위장대>
한라산에 자생하는 바위장대는 높이 10-20cm로서 전체에 성모와 차상의 털이 있으며 밑에서 짧게 뻗는 가지가 나온다
근생엽은 총생하고 꽃이 진 다음에도 남아 있으며 주걱모양이고 길이 5~33mm, 폭 2.5-7mm로서 불규칙한 톱니가 있으며 표면에 성모가 있다.
