섬현삼(현삼과)

울릉도 도착 첫날 다른 일행들의 일정에서 빠져 나와서 도동에서 저동까지 해안 산책로를 걸었다.

작년에 두번이나 울릉도에 다녀 왔지만 다른 일정에 짬짬이 움직이는 바람에

해안 산책로 중간 쯤 가다가 되돌아 나오느라고 관리하는 울타리 안에 있는 섬현삼을 보고 왔었다.

이 번에는 끝까지 걸었던 덕분에 해안가에서 자생하는 섬현삼을 볼 수 있는 수확을 얻었다.

 

 

 

학자들에 따라 줄기의 날개 부분에서 차이가 있는

섬현삼의 존재- 점에 대하여 의문을 가지고 보는 시각도 있다고 한다.

 

두터운 잎과 잎자루의 날개, 꽃받침의 모양 등은 두 녀석이 거의 같은 점이기 때문이다.

개현삼이 서식 환경의 차이에 따라 생태형으로 변화가 있는 게 아닌가 하고 보는 견해가 있다고 하는데

이에 대한 확실한 연구는 아직 없는 모양이다.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

꽃받침 열편은 둔한 원형으로 서로 포개어져 있다. 열편 가장자리는 얇고 흰 막질이었다.

 

 

 

줄기는 사각이 뚜렷하고 날개라고 까지 할 수는 없지만 능선이 예리하였다.

 

 

 

 

 

잎자루에 얕은 날개가 있는데 개현삼보다는 좁은 날개다.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

열매를 많이 달고 있으니 후손들이 많이 퍼질 것이로다.

 

 

저 바위 틈에서도 당당하게 서 있는 녀석의 모습이 참으로 대견스럽다
