무화과나무(뽕나무과)

방둑에 돌보지 않는 무화과나무에 열매가 자알 익었다.

사진을 담고 꽃동무 꼬맹이 주라고 따서 줬는데 열매 속을 갈라서 암꽃의 모습을 볼 걸 .....

천선과 나무도 무화과 처럼 꽃이 피지 않는데, 사실 이 열매가 꽃이다.

 

무화과 열매를 화낭이라 한다. 풀이하면 꽃주머니란 거다.

열매를 갈라보면 그 속에 암술이 가득 들어 있고 암술대 아래 자방을 한 개씩 달고 있다.

우리가 무화과 말린 걸 먹을 때 빠지작 빠지작 씹히는 게 바로 그 자방이 익은 것이 씹히는 소리이다.
