초종용(열당과 초종용속) Orobanche coerulescens Stephan ex Willd.

해안 풀밭에 사철쑥 옆에 사는 초종용. 흰색 초종용도 비를 맞으면 마지막 꽃송이를 피우고 있다.

 

꽃은 5-6월에 피며 길이 2cm로서 연한 자주색이고 원줄기 끝에 빽빽하게 길이 3-10cm의 수상화서로 달린다.

화수(花穗)는 전길이의 1/3-1/2이고 솜같은 긴 털이 있으며 포는 삼각형 또는 좁은 삼각형이고 윗부분이 가늘다.

 

꽃받침은 막질로서 꽃 길이의 1/2 정도이며 5개로 갈라진다.

화관은 순형이며 밑은 통부이고 윗부분은 휘어지며 겉에 털이 있고 상순은 넓고 끝이 요두이며

하순은 3개의 난원형 조각으로 갈라지고 가장자리가 파상이다.

 

 

인편 같은 잎은 호생하며 피침형 또는 좁은 난형이고 윗부분이 좁으며 원줄기와 더불어 백색이고

길이 1-1.5cm로서 긴 털이 드문드문 있다.

 

 

줄기는 연한 자주빛이 돌고 원줄기는 가지가 없으며 굵고 높이 10-30cm로서 백색 융모가 있으며 인엽이 있다.
