세바람꽃(미나리아재비과)

어리목 입구에 차를 주차해 두고 계곡을 한참 오르는데 콸콸 물소리가 요란하다.

1100고지 도로 부근이니 기온 차가 나겠지. 아래 해안 쪽 보다 나무의 새순이 아직 별로 움이 트지 않고 있다.

 

700여 미터를 걸었을까? 저만치 앞서 가던 n 님이 바닥에 업드린다.

100원짜리 동전보다 작은 하얀 꽃이다. 세바람이다!

총포엽은 3개이며 엽병이 짧고 3개로 깊게 갈라지며 열편은 쐐기형 또는 넓은 도피침형이고 근생엽과 비슷하다.

 

한라산에만 자란다는 세바람꽃이 어리목 쪽에서 가장 먼저 핀다고 ㄴ 님이 안내를 하셨다.

한라산 눈 녹은 계곡의 물맛은 무척 시원하고 달았다.

계곡 안으로 올라가면서도 꽃잎을 닫지는 않았겠지 걱정을 하였는데 오늘따라 햇살이 아주 좋아서 한창 꽃잎을 펼치고 있다.

 

그런데 너무 작다. 꽃자루가 위로 서기 보다는 바닥에 딱 붙어 있다.

한참 있으면 꽃자루가 위로 서면서 더 큰다고는 하는데 너도바람을 처음 만났을 때 너무 작아서 놀랬던 생각이 다시 떠오른다. 제주에서만 자란다는 바람꽃을 만나다니 올해는 정말 꽃복이 터졌다. 

 

꽃이 줄기마다. 대개 세 송이씩 피기 때문에 세바람꽃이라 한단다. 근데 세송이가 피는지 확인은 못했다.

제주도 한라산 정상 부근에서만 자란단다.

 

주머니의 동전을 놓아 보니 동전 보다 작다.
