대설산식물 - 지치과 갯지치속 에조루리소우 エゾルリソウ Mertensia pterocarpa var. yezoensis

와우~! 멸종위기종이라니!!!

 

 길바닥에 용케도 밟히지 않고 파란 종처럼 생긴 꽃을 달고 있었던 녀석이다. 처음 한 포기를 만났을 때 이 녀석 혹시 심어 놓은 원예종인가 싶었다. 몽골에서 만났던 갯지치속 녀석과 너무 닮은 꽃을 가지고 있었지만 엽형은 전혀 다른 넓은 난형이었다.

작년에는 정상에 빨리 도착해야 한다고 재촉하는 바람에 이 곳을 제대로 살피지 못했던 탓에 미처 보지 못했던 것 같다.

 

일행들은 벌써 멀리서서 움직이고 있었고 늦게 도착한 나는 다친 발가락 때문에 정상에 오를 생각 없이 뒤쳐져서 작년에 대충 넘긴 녀석들을 찬찬히 살피자는 데 목표를 두었다. 그래서 여유있게 살핀 덕분에 이 녀석도 제대로 만난 것 같다. 아무래도 일행들은 풀숲의 식물들에 시선을 빼앗겨서 바닥의 이 녀석을 미처 보지 못한 것 같다.

 

일본의 고산식물 도감을 확인하다가 녀석을 찾아내었는데 일본 고유종으로 일본에서도 보기 드문 멸종위기식물이란다.

일본명 에조루리소우 エゾルリソウ Mertensia pterocarpa var.yezoensis 고산지역 사력지나 붕괴지에 자생한다.

헌데 식물사이크 큐에서 검색하니 원종인 Mertensia pterocarpa만 검색이 된다.

일본 고유종으로 홋카이도 중부 고원, 유바리 산맥, 히다카 산맥에 분포한다. 고산 부두, 바위가 많은 자갈, 초원에서 자라며 높이 15~40cm 까지 자란다. 줄기와 잎은 옅은 녹색이며 희끄무레한 가루가 있다. 줄기잎은 난형에서 타원형이며 번갈아 가며 중간에 줄기를 감싼다. 7월에서 8월까지 줄기 끝에 자주색 파란색에서 청색 꽃을 피운니다. 모종은 쿠릴 열도 남도에 분포하는 "Chishimaru lisou" 이다.

 

나중에 꿩의밥을 촬영하고 있는데 일본관광객이 한 쪽을 가리키며 이 꽃 이름이 뭐냐고 묻는 듯하다. 잘 모르겠다고 한국말로 대답하고 고개 돌려 보니 거기도 꽤 큰 한 포기가 있었다.
