자생의 자도나무(장미과 벚나무속) Prunus salicina Lindi.

강원도 양구지역에 자생한다는 자생 자두나무이다.

열매가 황록색으로 익고 크기도 1cm 정도로 작다. 

 

양구지역에서는 자도나무 열매를 '고야' 라는 향명으로도 부르기도 하였단다.

'고야'는 '오얏'에서 유래되어 고야로 불려지게 된 것으로 추정한다.

내 어릴 적 기억으로 '고약'이라 부르는 작은 자두를 먹은 기억이 있다.

 

꽃은 너무 늦었고, 열매가 마악 잡혀 있었다.

작년에 이 녀석에 엉겨 있는 노박덩굴을 제거하느라고 땀을 많이 흘렸는데

아래쪽 가지가 많이 말라 있어서 안타깝다.
